Everyone knows that I read books. This year, I would like to share my love with everyone out there who have the same interest: book related things.
For today, I would like to focus on how I choose my reads. I could describe me as both a mood and fad reader.
Reading for me helps me cope up with all the realities and stresses of life. And as a mood reader, I do not really choose violent, sad or depressing stories- just cause I feel like that. How I choose my next read is based on what the previous one had made me feel- I probably suddenly became interested on Indian authors/ books because my last read/ movie/ show was about South Asian culture. Or, I watched a movie that was originally a book( hello to all the Bridgerton, Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter fans out there!) and, I am curious to know what the printed version is all about. Sometimes, I get to read very bad books that I needed palate cleansers- which is why I often choose children's books, graphic novels or chic lits just to forget the disappointment of reading a bad novel/ book.
Recently, I realized that I am a fad reader as well. What the people out there are talking about- remember the Game of Thrones craze, Harry Potter series, Twilight obsessions and now the Bridgertons? Well, something like that. Though I am drawing the lines on Twilight and the Bridgertons. I did read the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings series though. Those were the best books I have read for all time- I read them more than 5 times- in case people are wondering.......
I usually reasearch the books that I read which is why I posted my goodreads book overview for 2024. The Oprah bookclub, Goodreads and recently the Fable apps are just some of my trusted resources for my next read. I am also a member of a book club. Yes, I have a library card but I prefer to borrow digital copies as oppossed to physical books as I love to annotate( more on that later).
Overall, what you will be seeing from me this year is probably an increase on posts talking about the books I read. I will still be doing polymer clay tutorials- as soon as I unpack the rest of my things and my other usual topics.
