I woke up as early as 6:00am with my alarm sounding as loud as a lions roar. With anger, I reached out to it to switch it off before it takes out my eardrum.
It’s a Sunday and I have to prepare for Sunday service. Reluctantly, I walked into my closet to pick out an outfit for service. After searching through, I finally settled for a stripped pink colored wrap top with a wine colored palazzo trouser which will definitely look amazing when put together.
I tried on the outfit only to discover the trouser doesn’t fit anymore, it was literally falling off my waist. With disappointment, I took it off though super excited that at least I have lost some weight. I went back into my closet to pick up a skirt, Viola! My perfect size.
Excited, I jumped into the shower to have my bath and prepare for Sunday service. Half way during my shower, I noticed the cloud was changing from a clear blue sky to a dark cloudy sky, I knew it was going to rain heavily because in the past few weeks, we have been experiencing heavy rainfall. I hurriedly took my bath because I have to make sure I beat the rain.
Unfortunately the rain started falling heavily. At that moment, I had already lost hope, my day was ruined! I would miss Sunday service, It would be difficult to get a taxi willing to take me to my location with that heavy down pour. I laid on my bed hoping the rain would stop only to fall asleep. I had given up already, suddenly, my sister came banging on my door asking if I am going to spend the whole day sleeping. I realized it rained for two hours non-stop. I quickly jumped out of my bed when at last the rain had stopped, I was hardly in any mood to go out anymore. There was hardly any time left.
With persistence, I threw on my already picked out outfits and by the time I got outside, the street was flooded, luckily for me a Lexus 350 Jeep was passing by and the driver insisted to give me a lift which I politely declined of course but with a few persuasion and some considerations , I agreed. We got to my location and he asked if he could see me again? See me again? I said to myself. I thought this was just a kind gesture? I asked him, he said yes, it is, but he likes my smile and would want to see me again for sure. He wanted to know more about me. So I responded, ‘sure, no problem’ and we exchanged phone numbers. I am sure you would too because he was a fine looking young man. I was already late for service so I rushed in.
On my way back, half way through the journey, I received a call from my ‘admirer’ asking if I would be needing a ride home. A ride home? I think I just found myself a private transporter, I thought to myself. I laughed and told him there was no need and in fact I was already on my way home. He said he would call me later in the day to know if I got home safe.
Rains are blessings but can also be a curse, but in my case it was a blessing because I didn’t only meet a good looking young man, I also got a free ride.
