Let me introduce you to Brent Underwood. I learned of this guy a couple years ago and from time to time would catch a video here and there. I recently decided to let my son watch with me and this is the video we started out with. We are now up to around the eight month time period. The last few days we have been watching about three episodes a day and my son is excited to see more.
What I get out of this is the history that Brent learns and shares through the videos. I also enjoy when he goes on hikes and shows stuff he finds. This stuff he sometimes brings back to Cerra Gordo and puts it into the museum he is creating.
Since Cerra Gordo is a mining town there are lots of mines and mine entrances all over that he ventures into. Yes he does go exploring in the mines. I guess what we do not see off camera is him training to explore the mines safely. It would have been a nice edition. Who knows in one of the more recent videos he may have added this.
One of the videos we watched today was where Brent decided to clear the main town road and set up an area where he intends on building a cabin. There is a mine entrance nearby that he plans on incorporating into the cabin.
I loved that when he went inside it was a wall built with rocks. It looked REALLY cool. I got the idea that this and other mines could be cleaned up and operated as storage for food.
What he was looking for was wood to build this new cabin with. There is lots of wood planks in the mines.
Over all just learning about this mining town is fascinating and gives me tons of ideas.
Go give him a watch and maybe hang around to watch all his videos.
By the way. He has kittens and goats that are great to hear about from time to time as well if you're an animal lover.
