It’s not snow or snowballs, it’s salt clusters. Shaped and formed by wind and water, pushing and rolling deposits together, and collecting minerals over time. What’s even more bizarre is walking out for miles in ankle deep water on top of and endless sheet of hardened salt, sometimes breaking through, exposing thick muddy clay.
A friend learned the hard way about wearing proper footwear and had to take his shoes off, exposing his feet to the sharp, porous surface. By the end of shooting, he could hardly walk back to the truck. Feet all scraped and cut up. Talk about ‘salt in the wound’. Haha.
