Hi steamian friends,
I want to share with you a beautiful place situated 60 kms north of Brisbane: the Glass House Mountains. They have become a landmark for hikers and an inspiring place. Even captain Cook was amazed by their shapes and gave them a name. The aboriginal people have a legend telling a story in which (mt.) Tibrogargan was the father of all tribes and with his wife (mt.) Beerwah they had a lot of children. (mt.) Coonoowrin, who was the eldest son apparently didn't help his mother during a flood and for this reason the whole family was angry with him. Tibrogargan was so mad that chased him and beat him with a mighty blow that cracked his neck. That's why Mt. Coonoowrin has this particular shape ever since.
