Near the little cute town, with the world-famous name of Darjeeling, is one of the main organic tea estates in the region. Our guest house was just a 5 mins walk from the tea estate, so we walked around the fields often. They still produce tea like in the old days just with a little more machines than 100 years ago, but still mainly with manpower... Or better womanpower :-)
We joined one of their very informative tours around the factory. They run it every hour during the day and it just costs 100 Rupees.
At the end of the tour they offer a tea tasting of their own products. To help you make up your mind which type to tea to purchase.
