Sendang Gile Waterfall, Lombok, Indonesia

This is my entry for the landscapephotography contest by Hive account@juliank. This picture was taken in my previous travel trip to Lombok with my friends. Can you spot that seemingly little waterfall in the picture? Right there, in the middle.

Sendang Gile waterfall is located in the north of Lombok, at the foot of Mount Rinjani. It took us about 2 hours to reach there by a private van from our hotel. This stunning waterfall was one of the highlights of our trip here. My friends and I hiked about 45 minutes to get to waterfall. It was quite a hike to remember especially those layered steep rock bank and beautiful, shady trees that were covered with cold mist. Not forgetting, some distance in the rocky rivers and its fast-flowing water at certain points of the hike. We were really nervous at the beginning of the hike, but we made it... with the help of a local guide. He even helped to carry our backpacks throughout the hike! We were so glad that we made the right decision to hire him to take us right to the waterfall, and back to the starting point. It was beyond words.
