Golubac [eng/срп] Голубац

Djerdap Gorge, the best possible place to control land and water ways down the Danube. That's why in the ancient times, Romans started building a fortress at this spot of strategic importance. The majority of the fortress, as you can see it today, was built early in the XIV Century.
