Welcome to the Navagio Beach located on the north-west shore of the island of Zakynthos in Greece. It also known as the Shipwreck Beach and definitely it is one of the most photographed beaches in the world with unique atmosphere. And the colours of the water are out of this world!
The beach was originally known as Agios Georgios or Saint George, until a ship sunk on the beach in 1983. The ship (which was transporting illegal cigarettes) was washed on the shore where it remained until today. Since then the Navagio beach has become one of the most visited sites on the island.
The place is defined by its sheer limestone cliffs, white sandy beach, and amazingly perfect blue water. The location is also a favourite spot for base jumpers, as the view from above is mesmerizing! What makes this beach more amazing is the fact that it is only accessible by boat.
It was one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever explored in Europe.
It is simply a must stop when you’re visiting Zakynthos!
BONUS FACT:
There are 1 million olive trees on this island, a way more than its population of 40,000! :)
Stay awesome and Steem on!
