The Ring of Kerry, despite its reputation for amazing scenery, actually bypasses many of the real gems of the Kerry landscape. However, Derrynane Beach, a playground of sheltered coves and inlets, is an exception. You get the most dramatic view when you approach it from the north. The bay reveals itself all at once to you. And it's a place that will reward you even more if you take the time to explore it.
For this photograph, I wanted to capture a less familiar angle of the bay, which allowed me to highlight the meandering stream.
If you look hard enough, you might even be able to spot a house that was built to look like a ship.
