Photo - Survivors, taken in the dark in Borobudur, West Java, Indonesia (Canon EOS 5D MKIII, edited with Lightroom).
This is one of my favorite photos ever. I took it just after I started in photography, and have called it "Survivors". Because, anyhow, reminds me of a life form, in this case, the flowers, emerging from the darkness of a war, in the same direction, as if to say "let's live", no matter what, no matter how. Because the ones who rule the world make war(s), but the victims are all the rest, and they are the ones who are there an have to stand up again and keep going.
I don't know why, but while reading the announcement of this tribute and knowing about Laura Lemons, this photo came immediately to my mind, and I wanted to pay tribute to Laura with it. Somehow she is now in a place of light, standing up and having a direction. She got out from the darkness and from being a victim of the society once for all. May she rest in peace.
