EFFECT OF A COURT BECOMING FUNCTUS OFFICIO
When a court has made a final decision on a case, the court is said to be functus officio i.e has discharged its function. The effect is that nothing can be altered again except for spelling errors, figures and other minor details. However, a court decision that is not final and incidental to another decision can be altered.
