About a week ago, I searched the Net for the Law of Attraction and/ or Abraham Hicks e-Books. (Not) to my surprise - I discovered that most of it can be found for free online.
I was aware of the fact that there are hundreds of Abraham Hicks videos on YouTube. What I didn't know, was that their books can be found for free too.
In fact they can be downloaded here: Archive.org - Abraham Hicks Collection
In case you haven't heard of archive.org before: it's a place where you can find all kind of royalty free/ free to use stuff.
As they describe in their 'About' section:
The Internet Archive, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is building a digital library of Internet sites and other cultural artifacts in digital form. Like a paper library, we provide free access to researchers, historians, scholars, the print disabled, and the general public. Our mission is to provide Universal Access to All Knowledge.
I borrowed and recycled things from this place, several times. Mainly music and or stock footage for short film projects.
The Power of Manifestation
Only days after searching for e-Books ( on the law of attraction ), my brother came over and gifted me his 'old' e-Reader. I didn't see this coming. Not the gift, nor his visit.
I realize that, months ago, he asked me if I would like to receive an e-Reader for my Birthday. I guess I said "yes" to that. But I don't remember for sure. My Birthday is in October, it's July now.
I was - and am - very happy with this unexpected present. I had been thinking, lately, that I would love to read more. And I'm talking about reading books here.
As is the case with most people nowadays, it's not that I don't read a lot. The thing is that most reading is more like a continuous (re)checking of the same thing. It's not very relaxing. It's not teaching me a lot. It's not doing my brain a lot of good.
I read the news too often, same goes for checking sport (results), apps on my phone and all kinds of crypto marketed related sites. In short: stuff that isn't really helping me leveling up. That gets me out of the moment. That makes me stress out.
I felt liked I wanted to read more books. More fiction, more books on self development. But I was getting tired of reading on screens all the time. Don't misunderstand me here, I still like to spend time on Steemit and Discord. I wouldn't mind, though, if the reading time I don't spend on (t)here is spent on actual reading instead of checking the news, sports and crypto markets.
I started reading one of the Abraham Hicks books that you can find on archive.org ( about a week ago ) but couldn't really get myself to do that on my laptop. I was getting tired of reading on my laptop screen. I wouldn't even think of reading an e-Book on my phone. I would really need glasses for that.
Back to the Law of Attraction
And then I received my brother's e-Reader.
He told me there are over 300 books on it. They will keep me from getting bored for a while. Living out of a backpack and being in Portugal ( a country where most people don't do a lot of reading ) made it tough for me to get my hands on any books at all. My sister gave me a Portuguese version of Goosebumps (Arrepios ) a while ago and I got through two Portuguese novels before that, but I would love to read more.
The e-Reader didn't seem to contain any books on the Law of Attraction. My brother is into sci-fi a lot, but not into this kind of stuff. It's probably too 'woo-woo' for him. He has a decent taste though so I'm not worried about what I'll find on there.
Earlier today, I transferred the Abraham Hicks/ Law of Attraction e-Books that I downloaded from archive.org to my e-Reader. I can't wait to start reading them.
Expect me to start sharing more and more on ( what I'm ( reading in the next coming of months.
P.S. For a guy who's sleeping in a tent in his sister's garden, living out of a backpack, an e-Reader isn't the worst thing to carry around. Long live minimalism and technology!
Do you like reading? How do you like E-books? Would you be able to give or throw all your books away and replace them by digital versions?
