Met and Mitt

EXAMPLE SENTENCE:

I met a boy who wore a mitt.

DEFINITIONS:

met = (past tense of the word meet) being at the same place as someone else

mitt = a glove with two sections, one for the thumb and the other for all four fingers

Let and Lit

EXAMPLE SENTENCE:

The mother let the boy play with a candle. He lit the candle.

DEFINITIONS:

let = not forbid

lit = (past tense of light) to make something start burning

Pet and Pit

EXAMPLE SENTENCE:

The pet fell in the pit.

DEFINITIONS:

pet = a tame animal or bird that is keep for companionship or pleasure as it treated with care

pit = a large hole in the ground

Bet and Bit

EXAMPLE SENTENCE:

I bet the little brother bit his older sister.
