I'm not going to muddle this post up with too many of my own words but as a huge fan I want to celebrate this transcendental human being with some of his own work.
First is a birthday song written, recorded, and presented to John on his 30th birthday, October 9, 1970 by George Harrison. On that day John was at Abbey Road studios recording songs for what would become the album John Lennon, Plastic Ono Band while George was down the hall mixing songs for his solo album All Things Must Pass. George invited John and Ringo (playing on John's album) down to his studio and played this song for John :)
Here is John's son Sean, singing one of his pops songs, Isolation.
And here is a killer remastered version of John singing Isolation that has me tearing up.
Well, I have a long day of listening to everything John Lennon so I will leave you with this video for the song Working Class Hero that includes some great quotes and things from John, in addition to a great song!
