Dozens of shots rang out near the White House on the 23rd (local time).
U.S. President Donald Trump was staying at the White House at the time of the incident, and Secret Service (SS), FBI agents and police officers blocked the scene of the incident and are investigating the details of the incident.
According to CNN, SS officials said they were investigating after receiving a report of gunfire at the intersection of 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW outside the White House complex at around 6 p.m. that evening.
CNN said its reporters also heard gunshots near the White House, and reporters on the north lawn of the White House at the time were urgently evacuated inside the briefing room.
One reporter said the gunshots appeared to be coming from the direction of Eisenhower administration in the White House complex.
The SS then temporarily closed the White House and ordered reporters outside the building to evacuate.
"We heard 25 to 30 consecutive shots," said a U.S. media reporter, News Nation. "SS agents evacuated reporters to the briefing room. They shouted, 'Shoot! Get down!' and brought us here (the briefing room) as soon as possible."
SS' press office told X (X, formerly Twitter) "We are aware of reports of shootings on 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW, and we are working with field personnel to check information," adding, "We will provide additional information as soon as it is confirmed."
FBI Director Kathy Patel also wrote on X that the FBI has been on the scene and is supporting SS in response to shootings near the White House, adding that she will release additional information when possible.
While federal agencies such as the SS or the FBI did not disclose the details of the incident, Fox News reported that the shooter fired three pistols at the White House, and SS members fired back to subdue the shooter.
A law enforcement official said, "The suspect approached a checkpoint near the White House and fired at officers. He was taken to a hospital after being subdued. None of the law enforcement personnel were injured."
President Trump is said to be safe.
However, it was reported that a passerby was shot at the scene of the incident and taken to a nearby hospital, and no specific condition has been confirmed.
Earlier on the 4th, a suspect with a firearm fired at law enforcement agents at an intersection southeast of the Washington Monument, not far from the White House, and the agents responded and engaged.
On the 25th of last month, a gunman armed with shotguns, pistols and knives rushed through the search bar in a security check area near the Hilton Hotel dinner hall in Washington, where the White House Press Association dinner was held, and was overpowered by authorities shortly after it passed.
At that time, President Trump was present at the dinner hall, but he was evacuated safely.

Perhaps because the leadership is rooted in hatred, reports of shootings seem to occur with unusual frequency.
Fortunately, it is said that no one was injured, but
repeated incidents like these are enough to create a sense of unease.
I hope we can move toward a more united path.
