When the government hinted at an exception to the land transaction permit system for non-resident single-home owners, it was pointed out that it allowed a de facto 'gap investment'.
In response, President Lee Jae-myung said, "We are trying to give tenants a chance to sell," and drew a line, saying, "It is close to oppressive criticism."

As the transfer tax and grace period ended on the 10th, sales of apartments in Seoul decreased by more than 2,000 over the weekend.
Concerned about the lockdown of the sale, the government said, "We will consider exceptions to land transaction permits for non-resident single-homeowners."

- "It's also quite reasonable for a single homeowner to protest, 'Why can't you let me sell the house you're renting?'"."
Regarding the sale of single-home owners with tenants, it is said that the buyer's actual residence obligation will be suspended, and some pointed out that this is a de facto "gap investment" permission.
President Lee Jae-myung directly refuted this.
President Lee wrote on his SNS yesterday (11th) that "the claim of allowing gap investment in fact is close to the so-called 'oppression', that is, forced criticism."
It then formalized the introduction of an exception to the new land transaction permit system by suggesting specific conditions.
"The buyer is limited to homeless people, and the existing tenant is allowed to move in after the remaining lease period, but does not exceed a maximum of two years," it said.
He also said, "It seems too much to say that this is to allow gap investment," and asked for cooperation to escape the real estate republic.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said, "We will review the suspension of actual residence in the Touhe district under the principle that gap investment is not allowed."

"They are nitpicking again, even though the criticisms have already been revised and presented in a constructive way. As the article points out, the idea is to give people a chance to sell and exit before sanctions take effect. Let’s read the piece carefully and then make our criticisms."
