The final candidates for the new representative of the People's Power have been selected as Kim Moon-soo and Jang Dong-hyuk (in alphabetical order).
The People's Power held a national convention in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, today (22nd) and announced the results.
In the main race for the party's leadership election, a total of four candidates, Kim and Jang, Ahn Cheol-soo, and Cho Kyung-tae, faced off, and two top-ranked candidates, Kim Moon-soo and Jang Dong-hyuk (in alphabetical order), confirmed their "conviction."
Both candidates Kim Moon-soo and Jang Dong-hyuk opposed the impeachment of former President Yoon Suk Yeol, so no matter who wins the final vote, the next leadership of the People's Power will be taken by the Anti-Terrorist Party.
Like the party leadership election, the supreme council election was held by adding up 80% of the party vote and 20% of the public opinion poll, and candidate Shin Dong-wook was elected as the "senior supreme council member" with the highest vote share.
After candidate Shin, Kim Min-soo, Yang Hyang-ja, and Kim Jae-won were elected as the supreme council members, winning the highest vote.
In the election of the youth supreme council, candidate Woo Jae-joon succeeded in entering the leadership by winning after a close game with candidate Sohn Soo-jo.
The two candidates for the party's leadership who advanced to the 'final' will face off again tomorrow (23rd) in a TV debate. After that, the final results will be announced on the 26th after the final vote.
