President Trump posted on social media that he has decided not to attend the wedding of his eldest son, Trump Jr.
"The situation related to the government and the love for the United States do not allow us to attend," he said. "I think it's important to stay in Washington DC at this important time."
There are observations that negotiations between the U.S. and Iran can produce results soon.
Local media reported that army chief Asim Munir of Pakistan, the mediator, is heading to Iran to seek an agreement between the U.S. and Iran.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio also said some progress had been made in negotiations with Iran.
[U.S. Secretary of State Marko Rubio: "There has been some progress. I don't want to exaggerate, I don't want to downplay. There is still more work to be done, but there has been some progress, which is a good sign."]
However, Iran has maintained a level of pressure that the highly enriched uranium issue must be resolved, saying it could never have nuclear weapons.
Earlier, President Trump also reiterated that the U.S. would secure Iran's highly enriched uranium.
[Donald Trump/U.S. President/Yesterday: "We will definitely secure it. We don't need, we don't want uranium. We will secure it and destroy it, but we will not let Iran have uranium."]
The United States also issued a strong warning regarding the passage of the Strait of Hormuz.
In addition, he has repeatedly called for the passage of a U.N. Security Council resolution calling for an end to Iran's sabotage of the Strait of Hormuz.

This weekend will be critical in determining whether a truly important conclusion is reached.
Although various observations and interpretations are emerging, ultimately, the most important factor will be Trump’s decision.
I hope he makes a wise decision, even at this stage.
