The U.S. military attacked a large bridge near Tehran, the capital of Iran, after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a high-intensity attack on Iran in a speech to the nation.
It is noteworthy that the air strike on key infrastructure facilities was carried out after President Trump's threat to "return it to the Stone Age."
President Trump strongly pressured Iran to reach an agreement, posting a video of the bombing, signaling an additional attack.
At 12:30 p.m. Eastern time on the 2nd, President Trump posted a 10-second video of a large bridge soaring black smoke as a large bridge was attacked and collapsed, saying on social media Truth Social, "Iran's largest bridge collapsed and became unusable again. More will continue."
He continued, "It's time for Iran to come to an agreement before it's too late, before there's nothing left to make it a great country!"
The bridge is a "B1 bridge" in the Karaz region, about 35 kilometers southwest of Tehran, the Iranian capital, AFP reported.
The bridge connecting Tehran and Karaj has not yet been completed, and the bridge is 136 meters high, making it the highest bridge in the Middle East, the news agency said.
It is difficult to know exactly when the U.S. military attacked the bridge, but it is presumed to be after President Trump's speech to the nation the day before.
In his speech to the nation, President Trump called on Iran to conclude the deal, but vowed to hit Iran extremely strongly over the next two to three weeks to return Iran to the Stone Age.
Immediately after the speech to the nation, the warning statement was implemented with a large bridge strike.
It also hinted at plans to continue hitting this scale with a foreshadowing that "more will continue."
It is interpreted as an intention to pressure Iran for an agreement by increasing the intensity of the attack and pressuring the agreement, as announced by the speech to the nation.
A U.S. military official told the New York Times (NYT) that it had cut off the supply line for Iranian missile and drone units.
However, Iran's semi-official news agency claimed that the bridge had not been opened and was not used as a supply route for munitions.
The New York Times said it was unclear if the bridge was open to the public and that national infrastructure used by the military or mobilized for military operations could be considered a legitimate target of attack.
At the same time, he also expressed the opinion of experts that the bombing of the bridge could be an attack aimed at pressuring Iran and securing video content rather than for military gain.
Iranian media said the airstrike killed eight people and wounded 95 others, saying there was one more attack when aid teams arrived to deal with the injuries.

It's hard to know if Trump is working on an end to the war, or actually for additional troops.
However, I cannot erase the idea that he is making judgments and actions that are harmful to our country and the United States.
It's unfortunate that we still have three years left.
