The U.S.-China summit was held in Beijing, China. U.S. President Trump said he was promised President Xi Jinping's extraordinary cooperation at the summit. He said President Xi will help open the Strait of Hormuz and buy Boeing's aircraft. However, tensions were also high over the Taiwan issue.

President Trump, who is visiting China, delivered the words of President Xi Jinping himself.
[Donald Trump/U.S. President (Fox News) : President Xi wants an agreement to be reached. In fact, he also said, "I want to help if I can help." He hopes the Strait of Hormuz will open up.]
He also said that President Xi strongly said he would not hand over military equipment to Iran.
President Trump, who said he did not need China's help in resolving the Iranian issue until just before his visit to China, is believed to have directly attracted China when the end-of-war negotiations did not go his way.
However, details of Trump's remarks have not yet been confirmed, as they were released through a trailer for the Fox News interview.
President Trump also emphasized economic performance.
President Xi said he has decided to buy U.S. soybeans, oil and liquefied natural gas, and also buy 200 737 aircraft from Boeing in the U.S.
However, tensions remain between the two sides on the Taiwan issue.
Xi warned Trump strongly during the talks, saying that mishandling the Taiwan issue could lead to a U.S.-China conflict.
The U.S. didn't back down either.
[Marko Rubio/Secretary of State (U.S. NBC News): Our policy (on Taiwan) has not changed. It has been quite consistent in several administrations and it still is. Forcing the status quo on our part will have bad consequences for both countries.]
At this meeting, President Trump also directly mentioned the release of Hong Kong anti-Chinese journalist Jimmy Lai and reportedly pressured China.

There weren’t any major changes, but it was an event where China’s rising stature was clearly felt.
Trump once again showed his endless weakness toward dictators, and practically, the U.S. seems to lack effective tools to pressure China.
The biggest disappointment was the failure to draw China into exerting pressure on Iran.
Now, the war may drift on indefinitely. Americans tend to turn away when problems remain unresolved.
It is a time when strong responses are needed.
