U.S. Vice President JD Vance said on the 13th (local time) that "it is entirely up to Iran to decide whether further talks will take place in the future and ultimately reach an agreement."
Vice President Vance said in an interview with Fox News on the same day, "We have already offered a lot (to Iran)."
"Now the ball is on the Iranian side," he said.
Vice President Vance, who led a U.S. delegation to negotiate with Iran in Pakistan from the 11th to the 12th, explained that the U.S. came out of the negotiations because the Iranian negotiators did not have the authority to reach a final agreement.
"I think we've got some sense of how the Iranian side negotiates, and that's the ultimate reason why we left Pakistan," Vance said.
"According to our understanding, the negotiating team there was not capable of reaching an agreement and had to return to Tehran (Iran's capital) to get approval from the supreme leader or someone else on the terms we set out," he said.
Vice President Vance said about the breakdown of the first face-to-face negotiations with Iran, "We can't just say that things are wrong. "There was something that went well," he said. "We have communicated our position very clearly, and I think this is part of the progress we have made."
The U.S. is said to have demanded the export of highly enriched uranium held by Iran and the abandonment of control over the Strait of Hormuz.
U.S. media also reported that the U.S. has demanded a 20-year halt to Iran's uranium enrichment.
Meanwhile, Vice President Vance said of Pope Leo XIV and President Donald Trump's open war of words against the Iran war, "Inevitably, when the Vatican presents opinions on public policy, sometimes they agree and sometimes disagree."
"In some cases, it is best for the Vatican to focus only on moral issues or situations within the Catholic Church, and for the president of the United States to concentrate on determining American public policy," he said. "But when the two collide, they often collide."
"Orban Viktor is an outstanding man who has done a very good job. It is unfortunate that he lost," Vance said, referring to the outcome of Hungary's parliamentary elections in which Prime Minister Orban Viktor's ruling party suffered a crushing defeat. "We will work very well with the next Hungarian prime minister."

Reports about negotiations are appearing across various media outlets,
and Vice President Vance has even given a direct interview.
There is no need to believe everything 100%, but neither should we dismiss it entirely.
What matters is that there is dialogue and some progress.
The war is moving toward its end.
