The Ministry of Employment and Labor and the police have launched a forced investigation into the Taean Thermal Power Plant of Korea Western Power Co., where the late subcontractor worker Kim Choong-hyun died.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Chungnam National Police Agency deployed a total of 80 people, including 43 labor inspectors, to Taean Thermal Power Plant and subcontractor KEPCO KPS from 10 a.m. today (15th).
Through this search and seizure, the Ministry of Employment and Labor plans to focus on whether there were orders from Western Power and KEPCO KPS related to Kim's work and whether the obligation to secure safety such as protective devices was fulfilled.
Earlier on the 2nd, Kim died after being caught in a machine while working alone in a mechanical workshop in the power plant.
