Miltochrista miniata (Forster, 1771)
Das Rosen-Flechtenbärchen ist ein Nachtfalter aus der Familie der Bärenspinner (Arctiinae). Er ist vorwiegend nachtaktiv und ernährt sich an unterschiedlichen Blüten. Das Weibchen legt seine Eier an der Rinde von Laubbäumen ab. Die Raupe ernährt sich von Flechten und überwintert gut geschützt unter der Rinde. Im Frühjahr verpuppt sich die Raupe in einem Gespinst am Baum. Der Falter fliegt in einer Generation von Anfang Juni bis in den August. Leider hat auch dieser Nachtfalter es auf die Rote Liste der gefährdeten Tierarten geschafft. Sein derzeitiger Bestand gilt als gefährdet.
The rosy footman is a moth from the family of Arctiinae. It is predominantly nocturnal and feeds on different flowers. The female lays her eggs on the bark of deciduous trees. The caterpillar feeds on lichens and hibernates well protected under the bark. In spring the caterpillar pupates in a web on the tree. The butterfly flies in a generation from the beginning of June to August. Unfortunately, this moth has also made it onto the red list of endangered species. Its current population is considered endangered.
