Sad to say that Democrats in this country (are largely) not fighters....women in this country are not fighters...not in the way they should be for the protection of their own dignity and bodies.....
Metaphorically speaking, if this election were framed to them as a choice between accepting civil unions or being imprisoned...they would not accept that choice...they would demand same sex marriage...and not be placated by civil unions because the alternative is to be imprisoned.....
that is how you placate people...you give them two bad choices and force them to choose between them....that is not progress!!!
Would MLK have accepted a compromise where blacks don't have to go to the back of the bus but they have to go to the (back half) of the bus? NO effing way....he wouldn't call that progress...and I'm not calling Hillary "progress" either...
that's what this election is about to me.......we are being asked to settle for civil unions....
why can't the LGBT community be in charge of leading our country...? (just kidding) but maybe they could create real change...by demanding justice...not privilege...but justice!
