Hello my dear Steem peeps,
First thing first. My husband was discharged and recuperating at his home sweet home now. Dengue had taken a toll on his body and he is feeling really weak, although he got into safe zone pretty fast. So guys, do take care, if you should go out, please use mosquito repellant, either the stick type or lotion or spray. Or wear long sleeve and long pants all the time. Lol..
I was almost 80% offline from the Steem world since my husband got hospitalised. Mainly because of extreme exhaustion due to sleep deprivation. As usual, hospital's procedure was long and tedious. Waiting time certainly trained your patience, and good thing both my husband and I were the patience type.
We arrived at Emergency section at 9pm and registered. Being called in at 9:30pm was a good thing as it was fast. But then, it was not over yet. Being called in means the beginning part of queueing. Lol...
So, there was another department inside for you to take another number to be checked by another doctor....before the admission to the ward. So waited and waited we did.
Tick tock tick tock, 11pm.
Yay. Finally it is our turn. 455!
Went in to be checked by another doctor then off we went to the ward. Just when we got happy, they told us it was a temporary ward to get the IV line in, and we needed to wait somemore for the real admission.
What? For a moment, I thought I heard wrongly.
For how long did we need to wait? Doctor said "very long".
Here in the temporary ward, hubby was asked to changed into patient attire. Green like Steemit logo. Then got two IV line in, one left, one right.
Ouch!!! To him. Not to me. Coz I wasn't scared of needle at all. Seriously. Maybe because I was a Biology & Chemistry degree holder and I dissected animals before. So yup. So I was used to the scene of blood and cutting and stitching... Etc.
Tick tock! Tick Tock! The next day!
4am. Finally.....really....finally.
The real ward was ready. And we had waited patiently for hourssssss.... By the time we checked into the ward and another round to be questioned by the ward doctor, bla bla bla..... Then it was 5am!
I had to call up a friend of mine to pick me and send me home because my two sons will be waiting to see me the next day they woke up.
I reached home at 5:20am.
5:20am and the boys usually wake up at 6am!
I prayed that I would be lucky and had them slept in so that I could sleep. I hurriedly bathed and cleaned up and lied down my bed. Ohh......how I miss my bed. And I comfortably closed my eyes.
15 minutes later...
The boys were up. Not so lucky.
Gone was my sleep. Haha. But I gave thanks that they are my ever happy boys. Gave them a hug each and said good morning. Had my first cup of coffee and started the brand new day. Twas a great day... Because...
9 hours later at 3pm, my hubby messaged me to informed he could be discharged soon.
I counted I was awake for 40 hours straight (with 2hour-plus-hour nap in between) without sleep!!! I could not believe how I still could mend my daily life as a momma and wife. Must be the coffee and love for the family.
I catched up with my sleep yesterday, hence the disappearing on Steem while lurking around.
It is good to be back. Tell you, my miss the Steem world. You can tell from the huge fonts. Lol...
