Sometimes the most versatile thing you own may be the simplest. This is the case with my Plash Palatka, a rain coat that came in today.

A decades old piece of equipment, this Russian rain cape has been used since the czarist time period. Keeping soldiers dry in oh so many ways, this poncho turns into a single man tent. When you put together multiple you can make an entire command post.

The item I received has a very tight knit weave made out of treated fibers that expand and repel water when wet. This is very comfortable except for one point, it only has one arm hole. It's apparently meant to be used without buttoning the front down. Overall I say this is a solid piece of kit with a solid and reliable past and I would give it a good 6/10.
