More options have presented themselves over the past few days, what would you choose?
One
Bar work here in Cala Millor. It's another 'maybe', but could involve 7/8 hour shifts from late afternoon until close. The place is on the sea front and looks much busier than where I was at last year. I'll have to learn how to carry a tray of drinks, but the clientele are mostly English. Positives are that I'll have days in the sunshine and cash to tide me over for the summer.
Two
Braga. Up in the northwest corner of Portugal, there is a Sharepoint Admin role going. Monthly income would be way more than the bar work, but the lifestyle is a change. 9-5, screens and meetings, and honestly the pay proposed is nothing special. I have 0 Portuguese, and although it's not required for the role, no friends and no local dialect could be a bit of a bummer. Braga looks nice though, if you like your history that is.
Three
England. Probably the best 3/4 months to head 'home' weather-wise, but that's not saying much. There are no jobs waiting, but it could be the best place to pick something up and be able to save a little money / buy STEEM. And my daughter will be closer, although that depends which part of the country I'd end up at.
At present, I am siding towards one more summer in the sun, before giving in to reality and going back to office work. It would make sense to complete the minimum employment years to be able to claim the full English state pension, even though there are no guarantees it will exist in 28 or so years time. Blahh.
It's not quite the day to worry and decide though, soon....
Have a good weekend all
