Here is a picture of my Peacock, showing his beautiful and colorful plumage.
Peacocks, the national bird of India, mainly lives on insects, plants and foodgrains. They can reach a running speed of 16 km/h. They enjoy roosting in roofs and trees.
Its just fascinating how during mating season, peacocks attract females with their ornamental fan plumage by shaking it and also emitting an inaudible sound for humans.
An interesting fact is that a Peacock is the male bird, while Peahen is the female. Together they are known as peafowl and the offsprings are called peachicks.
