Greetings!!
Experiments, the good, bad and ugly, LOL. Yup, it does seem like in every experiment something is not going to come out as planned. Such is life!! That is how you learn,,, well, at least I do.
In my last post you were shown pieces I was experimenting on. Yesterday I fired the kiln. For the most part it was a success, but there are a few pieces I am not satisfied and one that was a total failure.
Let's get the failure out of the way first, LOL.
The rose. This one I was totally unsure of from the beginning. None of the white that was painting over the blue came out very well. So, I will do some more experimenting to try to figure out how to make it work. I'm not giving up, there has to be a way to make it work in ceramic glazes, LOL.
I think the banding came out Ok but I still want a little more practice before I put it on a piece I intend to sell.
The ivy and berries look OK but I think I should do with a little less white on the leaves. Just my personal taste though.
I think these are good, but again, a little less white would be better.
I love the effect the cascade glaze gave to this yarn bowl.
I made 4 berry colanders with different glazes so I could get a better idea of what they would look like. I like how each of them came out. :-) But I am showing my favorite here.
I think @AwesomismMom is going to love her mug. The pictures really don't do it justice.
This just might become my new go to mug, LOL. I used the cascade glazes again as well as a sandy color on the bottom portion. It kind of reminds me of the ocean coming onto a beach. What do you think?
The last of the pieces is probably my favorite. I absolutely love how the olive branch came out!! This design is a keeper for sure. I cannot wait to do a full canister set with this design on it. What do you think? Do you like the colors?
Please note this is also posted on my business web site. Thanks for stopping by and reading my post today. Let me know what you think and please upvote and share with others. Thanks again!!
Until next time,,,,,,
