The Annunciation Church is one of the oldest in Belarus. Its construction dates back to the 12th century.
The temple, which had no analogues in Russia, was built by Byzantine architects, who were specially brought to the construction of the church by the Polotsk princes.
The uniqueness of the temple-masonry. The walls are lined with alternating horizontal rows of hewn limestone blocks and thin flat bricks.
In the world there are only 2 such churches in Vitebsk and Constantinople.
