It didn't look like my birthday was going to be much special

I have been seriously counting our euro's and Hungarian forints the past weeks, and using everything we had in our kitchen to be as efficient with preparing food as possible. Not only did I needed to do that, but I was also waiting for a payment from a blogging website that was only 15 euro, but was going to get us through the last days. Luckily it came at the end of the day, and at least that meant that we could buy groceries for my birthday. I had an emergency plan also, in case the money didn't arrive on time, but this felt a bit better. I've been counting and puzzling so much with money the past weeks, that I almost felt like we went back in time again, like how we needed to survive for 6 months in Holland without having a dime. It makes you creative, and you are super aware of what everything costs, and where you can buy what for the best price. That's actually what happened here too, I didn't know much prizes by heart, but now I know a lot of them haha. We also discovered another supermarket that is really cheap, I knew the name as Hive account@wakeupkitty mentioned it to me once, but we didn't find out there was one near us until recently.

So this money drama all came forward because of (yes, how is it possible..) another mistake by my boyfriend's employer. Meaning we didn't have enough money to pay our rent, ouch! Stress, and eventually I managed to fix that through a loan with a Steemmonsters card, which gave me some air to breathe. But then some things got deducted from the bank, and I noticed that it was going to be tough the last week as the more expensive items (like diapers and shampoo) also needed replacement. So I managed to take some money here and some there, and all the coins I saved were actually now gone. But we have had harder challenges in life, and we were going to manage this. Thankfully, one of the first things I saw after waking up was that salary had arrived, yay, thank you employer.. At least that meant we could go out for a quick lunch later, because my daughter really wanted to have cake.

The sweetest thing another Steemian had ever done for me

The day before my birthday I was chatting with Hive account@simplymike and told her it was my birthday tomorrow, and that I was waiting for money to arrive. She then said something about arranging the birthday cake, which I laughed at, and forgot right after we had the chat. As the salary had arrived we went out for lunch during my boyfriend's lunch break. After that I watched a tv show together with my little one on the couch, nothing special, just quality time together. When my boyfriend came home, we both weren't hungry so we decided to see what we would eat in a while. And then it happened, I got a notification from Gina that Hive account@simplymike tagged me in her post. So I went over to read it, I was in awe by all the effort she had put in making that scenery with all these googlyeyes plus making the pictures, the post itself and of course, the video! I almost didn't see the video while scrolling through the post, luckily my boyfriend did.. It really made me smile, then tear up because it's like the sweetest thing to do, you actually made me feel like a birthday girl for the rest of the day. But also today, as people are still commenting on it to congratulate me.

You are truly one of the sweetest people I've met on Steemit, and I promise that I will (just like you) pay this forward one day! And most likely, I will never ever forget this, thank you! <3

Winning something in the googlyeyes contest

A few weeks ago I found out about the Hive account@googlyeyes contest because of a super funny entry Hive account@simplymike had made. I decided to enter myself too, but was too late that week, so I made an entry for the next round. A couple of days ago Hive account@simplymike found my entry and told me that she could never top that entry, so maybe she should wait until the next round. But then again, nahh, why should I? lol.. Little did I know that her entry was going to be a birthday wish for me, I actually expected her to win first prize with that one, it would have been soooo deserved if you asked me. But, we both won in the contest, so now I also went to bed feeling like a winner, because I found the announcement like an hour before my birthday was over. Thanks Hive account@googlyeyes! I felt ill today, but from tomorrow on I will get my curating hat on again, and use the delegation to curate as many posts as possible!

Today one of my dear blockchain friends Chris asked me if I received his gift

He told me yesterday on discord that he'd get me cake and icecream for my birthday, so I actually thought he meant that. I asked him if he meant that, but the guy is quite busy and I didn't get a response from him. So I went back to Steemmonsters and organizing my cards, when I suddenly noticed that one of the gifts came from Hive account@profanereviews. Easy to miss, I send a lot of cards to my account every day to level them up in my main account. Sorry that I didn't thank you earlier, but I really didn't notice it.. You're the best! <3 See guys? He thinks that I'm worth something in gold lol...

Looking back on the past year, and the year to come

I've been doing some serious thinking and looking back on the past, what has happened, what we achieved and what problems that were thrown on our paths the past year. But I've also come to insights and decided to finally just start with one of my plans that I wanted to start with last year when I really couldn't find the time for it. Priorities have changed, and my focus has been shifting towards new things, and I'm quite excited to start with it. Of course that's something I will tell you about in another post. And on top of that I keep seeing all kinds of angel numbers like 1111 or 222 today, so my guardian angels are trying to guide me in the right direction I guess... I hope to feel better tomorrow so I can actually start writing out my plans...

Tonight Steemmonster season is ending again

Time for a new season, and time to open the season rewards tomorrow. Today has been a rough day finishing quests, it usually is when everyone is trying to rank up just before the season ends. I've tried to let that go, and focus on first trying to rank up my account some more. In the meanwhile I've entered a few automated tournaments, and I hope that I will find that one special card in my rewards tomorrow when I wake up, so I can kick some ass in the tournaments lol.
