Hi Everybody !
This have been one of the most badass experiences in my life, and I wanted to share it with you!
(All the pictures are taken by me or by
, and so we own the rights of them)
Last saturday we went to Tatras, a mountain circuit in southern Poland with
. The path we took is called Orla Perć (Path of the Eagle) and it's considered the most difficult from all southern mountain area.
Just to make you have an idea about it: More than 140 people died already there.
Actually when we were arriving a red helicopter was picking up a guy... or a body, from in between the mountains.
All along the place we could spot many different graves and little stone sculptures as reminder of the fallen.
The hardest part was a 100 year old ladder that had absolutely nothing under it, only few chains before and after and a crack in the wall to put your feet. I was the first going down there. (Damn I am so thankful to my childhood of going to the roof of my parents house with a ladder). That rusty metal was screaming and moving so much, for some reason I felt in the world of Half-Life 2.
This ladder is where more people lost their lives. My respect to them.
We arrive late to the mountain, and made a good friend, Sebastian Kubicz, that was making hitch hiking! Is thanks to him that we found this amazing place, thanks buddy! But please next time don't fart so many times!
Some numbers:
- We spent eleven (11) hours with a maximum of 30 minutes, all stops (for breathing and eating, and watching how fucked up we were at the pick and edge of the mountains).
- We did 29000 steps within the path and from the car to the place.
- More than 30 km.
- and more than 2 km up, and 2 km down.
Next time we are taking a sleeping bag baby !
It was a beautiful adventure, a completely different day and experience. I think we been really lucky to pick up Sebastian from the road because it was thanks to him that we heard about this mountains. And we been double lucky since this is a path that is only legally opened at summer, and the weather conditions were just perfect!
Life is out there, go and catch it!
...Life is made by moments like this =)
Bye!
