Sometimes we feel like we are getting nowhere. Success seems to elude us. No matter how we try, nothing happens, period!
You feel like you’re living in a tiny little village or on a `lonely pathetic little island’, where no one knows your skills or talents.
Ever felt like that?
Not to worry. it’s a good thing. Why? Because, you’re actually assessing your life, and you are realizing there needs to be a change. And you want to put things right and come out of obscurity!
Big fish in little ponds:
I once heard a saying, “Act like a BIG fish in a littttle pond!”
If you act the part you want to be, sooner or later you will believe you are that type of person.
And… even though you may live in humble abode, you start to believe you’re a worthwhile person, a `giant among men’.
Doing your thing:
To start with, if you believe in your talents and use them where you are, soon, within the circle of your friends you’ll become known for your talents.
With those connections, it’s possible you will begin selling your ‘product’ (whatever it is). And that’s when you begin to learn the guidelines of running a business.
Working in bigger ponds:
And then, when you’ve become a BIG fish in your little pond, don’t stop there, find a bigger pond and grow even bigger and bigger, until you’re `swimming out to sea’.
Getting well known: In the old days we advertised our products in the newspapers…! That’s small thinking in today’s world. If you have an internet connection, register with a website and enjoy doing your thing there.
But take note, you’re still a little guy (but don’t forget a special person) back there in your humble little home!
Even though you may be a BIG guy now in business, it’s important to stay humble in spirit. Because, it keeps you grounded, happy, thoughtful and kind to others…Things that draw people to you!
Tried and tested:
You didn’t know it, but all the time you’ve been working hard… people and God have been watching you!
1. The people actually get to see your talent. As the saying goes, “Seeing is believing!” So they begin to support you, by buying your goods and spreading the word about your talents.
2. And God is watching your attitude and your perseverance under pressure. When he thinks you’re strong enough to handle success, He puts good things and opportunities in your way. All you have to do is take the challenge, and go along with it.
If you still feel lost in the woods, and getting nowhere… that’s your fault… Your negative thinking and attitude is betraying you and holding you back!
Take courage further… trust in God.
He is there for you, just waiting for you to ask for His help.
If you do your bit and think and behave success (without grumbles) that’s when He knows you are serious about what you desire. That’s when things start to happen.
