We hold ourselves back, by allowing our minds to restrict our true potential. It is like we put ourselves in jail and threw away the key! But we can be more…
Years of torment:
For example, take scripture history: how Israel had been badly treated in Egypt. They had the chance to move into the land of Israel straight away within days after walking through the Red Sea on dry land.
But because they couldn’t conceive their good fortune, there and then, they wondered in the desert for forty years before entering into the land of Israel!
Are we like that? Not believing things are possible or could happen straight away, perhaps within days?!
Are we blocking our own potential with lies!
Because we’ve experienced previous hard times, we begin believing we can’t be successful. We are quick to give up on ourselves and start telling ourselves lies. Such as the barriers we set up for ourselves, from our past:
- “I come from a poor background and had no education. That’s it, I mustn’t accept more.”
- “I’m not good at ….! I tried that and failed, so there is no hope for me now.”
The very thought of breaking these barriers scares us. That’s why most of us don’t take up challenges. We quickly step back and say, “No, no… I can’t do that!”
In reality:
Do you know what that challenge really was? God was giving us an opportunity to grow. And we blew it!
And we couldn’t even conceive it! We were so concerned with our problems, wallowing in the past, we let the chance to succeed at something, let go and pass by.
We never even stopped to think about it. How we could possibly do it. Or who could help us succeed. Working as a team we can achieve more.
Are we willing to go on thinking lack, defeat, failure, poverty? Or of joy, victory, power and abundance?!
Believe in the tenfold blessing:
Whatever you do in this life, it comes back to tenfold… whether it’s good or bad.
- If you think bad things, they will happen tenfold.
- If you think good thoughts, they come back tenfold in reality.
- If you start somewhere, anywhere, the action will spark off more tenfold actions.
Here are some examples:
- If you dream of knitting a beautiful jersey… nothing actually happens. But if you cast on a few stitches, you have a foundation to knit (work) on. With each stitch another row is done. When more and more is done, you start to believe you can knit that jersey after all. That’s when hope helps you complete the jersey.
- Also like writing a blog. No ideas come to you, until you write a few words. It’s like hitching your imagination to a star… Twinkle, twinkle… with each bright idea you have, it tends to shine brighter than the one before.
Okay, so you think I’m talking crap. Complete nonsense. But… even writing crap, makes you think of a cheeky title to work on. So try it, and see what I mean.
It’s okay to talk to yourself:
As long as you’re been positive.
- Think of the little things you did well with. Build on those thoughts and things. Add encouraging thoughts until you know where and what you can start working on.
- Build beautiful ideas in your mind. Once you have a positive image in your mind, you have something to hitch your particular star on.
You don’t need lots of money to start with.
Start with what you have, on small things and turn them into bigger and bigger things. What do you have around the house that you could use to make something?
And after you have sold it, plough that money back into your little business and make more, and so on, until you have enough money to invest in your real hobby.
- If you think crazy, way-out things (beyond your usual way), exotic and unique, and you can achieve anything.
