I am honestly bummed out that the women's hockey gold medal match ended the way it did. Any real hockey fan knows that a shoot out sucks. Sure its exciting but in terms of league standings, or a gold medal match its like flipping a coin. It just feels so shitty to lose a coin flip for a gold medal. I feel really bad for the Canadian girls. The pressure that is put on them to perform is monumental. All of Canada was watching, and they had the expectation to perform, and bring home the gold. Silver is amazing, and I am still proud of them. They accomplished so much, and fought hard. As a hockey fan I would have rather seen it end in OT then a shout out. Congrats USA, you won this time. Well see you in 4 years.
What do you think? Was it fair? Should the system be updated? Or do you think I am only complaining because we lost? Let me know!
