Hello fellow travelers,
Fifty or sixty years ago traveling to a foreign country was merely a dream. Only the rich could afford to travel to another country for holidays, and even they didn't have a lot of free time or resources to travel to another continent.
With the development of air travel in the last few decades, everything has changed. Today your dream of traveling to Cuba, Russia, Ethiopia or even the Antarctic can become a reality. More and more people from all over the world and of all age groups are starting to experience different countries and cultures. Even the farthest corners of our planet are possible to visit if you have the decisiveness, the energy, and the resources. The world is truly yours to experience.
As I mentioned in my introduction post, some destinations that I will talk about are the wonders of mother nature, and others are marvels of human design. From cities that get millions of tourists each year, to remote locations where you would probably be the only visitor.
There are a lot of positive and important advantages of modern-day travel. Some of them are obvious, like the income and employment benefits that the countries get from tourists. Other benefits that aren't that obvious but are equally important are: overcoming the barriers and the differences, and understanding the habits of different cultures.
It's about the journey, not the destination.
The journey to a location itself can be even more interesting than staying there. The people you meet, the resorts that you stay at, the meals you eat, the transportation method you take and so on. The things you see and learn are priceless. Once you go home, the experience will forever be ingrained in your hearth.
Peace!
