If you're a bit squeezed for money on your trip and/or would prefer to save a few dollars here and there, there are some alternate options depending on what you want to do. One example is instead of heading to the Tokyo Tower, we made our way to the Metropolitan Government Building instead. Free, and an elevator straight to the top!
Not that I can compare with the tower, but the views are just what to expect from a high-rise level.

There was also some advertising displays announcing the upcoming
TOKYO 2020 Olympics + Paralympics
And just a short stroll away is a large open area, with a water feature.
Of the many Cafe options (Owl Cafe, Cat Cafe, Hedgehog Cafe, etc.) the Shooting Cafe also grabbed our eye. It is a nice chill-out spot with a bar & food options. You can also opt to have your go with a BB gun of all different designs. However, we just opted for a couple of drinks whilst taking in the ambience.
