Beer is good.
I don’t drink often, it causes my gut to hurt sometimes, but I was invited by some close friends to spend an afternoon with them sampling some different kinds of microbrews from around the state and nation.
It was a great time being with my friends, And being fortunate to try all these different adult beverages. Just a sample of each though, not a full can for each. Drinking heavily isn’t something I do much of anymore, after graduating from typical American college.
I have a single beer at a meal from time to time. But I don’t find myself drunk off beer too often at all.. unless it’s a dedicated event.
I know some people out there say No alcohol whatsoever, but I say, “Live a little”. I have the control over the Alcohol, not the other way around. Been through enough and seen enough of what Alcohol can do to a person to allow it control in my life.
I’m more of a “one shot of tequila before bed” kind of guy anyways.. ha!
I’ll do my best trying to name and label these beers correctly for those beer lovers out there!
Certainly a good day to do this kind of thing with a fresh four inches of snow falling again Friday night.
Hop Life - Double IPA - Conshohocken Brewing Co.
Was a very citrus heavy IPA to mask the high alcohol content.
Mind Haze - New England IPA- Firestone Walker Brewing Co.
This was an excellent beer. Medium citrus body, cloudy, yet crisp.
Joop IPA - Limited Time Series IPA - Springhouse Brewing
Very hoppy with hoppy after notes. Nice typical appearance.
Fruhstuck Stout - Barrel Aged Breakfast Stout - Neshaminy Brewing Co.
A strong coffee flavor with thick texture. A good change of pace from the IPAs. Packs a punch at 10% ABV.
Soft Swerve - Milkshake IPA - Captain Lawrence Brewing Co.
Beer was thick like a milkshake, had a very creamy taste. Indeed reminded one of a milkshake.
The Big Looper - New England Double IPA - Double Nickel Brewing Co.
The guys really enjoyed this one. Very pleasant finishing tastes. Typical Double IPA body I thought.
SafeWord - Imperial Habanero IPA - FreeWill Brewing Co.
This beer was literal fire 🔥! Leaves a spicy hot habanero taste on the tongue and throat once consumed. Very much enjoyed this one. Quite surprising and easily covers up that whopping 10.1%ABV.
Blue Detour IPA - American IPA - Ever Grain Brewing Co.
This beer was good, but as the sampling progressed and I became drunker, my palate became less refined. Mixed in translation. But still I recall I enjoyed it. A typical IPA.
Government Shutdown Double IPA - Limited Time Series IPA - St. Boniface Brewing Co.
A heavy Hop body to mask the high alcohol.
Double Fishted - Double IPA - Flying Fish Brewing Co.
A nice closing, crisp IPA. Clean and crisp.
Phew, what a day.
Not something I can do everyday that’s for sure. My body would hate me.
Not many more opportunities like this for a while once baby James is born. Will be a bit occupied.
Stay safe everyone! Hope everyone else is enjoying the weekend!
I pray to Heavenly Father.
