That bright early Tuesday morning, I had showered, dressed up and packed my bag ready to start my day.
I walked from my hostel towards my school gate and waited to board a keke... After waiting for 20mins, I finally boarded one going to ikot ekpene road.(ikot ekpene road is one of the major roads in Uyo, Akwa ibom state).
So I arrived my destination, came down from the keke, reached in my bag to bring out my purse and pay the fare; Lo and behold I had left my purse in the hostel.. I was very embarrassed and had to plead with the driver that I actually have money to pay him but I forgot my wallet and if he doesn't believe me, he should take me back to the hostel and I would get him the money. His response was just shocking..; after giving me a close and tense look he said
so you forgot your purse but didn't forget ur phone, hmm girls of these days" he then drove and passed.
I felt so bad because he would actually think I did that on purpose and been a being fan of first impression it pained me more because all I could think of was what the other passengers would think or say..
So standing there with no money to continue my journey.. I had to place a call to my friend to help me bring my wallet that was in the hostel.
I waited for 20mins and she finally arrived.. My joy knew no bounds, I could finally continue my journey and save myself from further embarrassment.

So in that moment,i realized how people quickly judge others when they make a simple mistake and give the wrong impression about people. And I sincerely wished I would see him someday again to pay him his fare since he really thought I wanted to trick him out of his wages.
Now, I double-check the things I need for my day before I leave my room.
