Illustration: For the last twenty years or so I have noticed that eulogies frequently refer to the comical side of the deceased, citing funny incidents that family and friends will chuckle about through their tears.
That happened recently at the funeral of my brother in law. The minister's quips about "D.B." eased the tension considerably.
