Work hard! Go hard! Grind hard! If that's not working then go even harder!!
We are constantly aiming for the next goal or chasing the next dream...
BUT
Are we forgetting about the ones we do it for??
I felt like that was what I was starting to do. I would spend endless amounts of time surfing the web, doing research, and taking more courses and at the same time, spending less and less time with my family. And the funny thing is, they are the ones that I'm doing all of this for.
We can get so caught up in trying to grow our business that we forget to grow our family life along with it. We forget about the simple things that life is about.
Don't forget to savor the simple moments
I stated in a previous blog post that I had been reading 15 Secrets Successful People Know About Time Management for the 2nd time and I'm glad I did. It helped me to structure my days before and it's doing it's job again.
The book teaches you to schedule everything. Anything that's important should be on your schedule, NOT your to do list.
With me using this technique, I have learned to start scheduling family time each and everyday because work will always be there no matter how many hours you put in.
Note: Always feed your spirit the food it needs to survive. Just as the body needs healthy food to function at it's best, your spirit needs uplifting words daily to help you also function at your best.
My Daughter
Today I went to pick my daughter up from school and I was just amazed. I was thinking about how fast time flies. A few years ago she was in diapers and now she's miss independent. It's amazing seeing her going through these changes and how smart she has become.
I was able to take time and help her color a picture in her coloring book. She also is getting ready for the big elementary next school year so we went over her letters as well.

My Son
My son has been into the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book series for a few months now. Today we were talking at dinner and he was telling me about what he learned about Dr. Seuss's background. He then went on to talk about Jeff Kinney, author of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
After I saw I he had an interest in the authors I asked him if he would like to write a book, and what do you know, he had been working on a story.
He had been writing a story about a character from Minecraft. It was fun teaching him about the elements that make up a story such as the set up, the conflict, and resolution. Once he understood the recipe, he took his story to new heights within a matter of minutes!

Now I must say today was a wonderful day but I can't let it stop there. If you want to improve relationships with family then you have to work at it. You have to make it a priority!
I'm excited about our daily scheduled time as a family!!
Also remember that a life worth living is a life worth recording.
