People are always shocked when I tell them how long 
Last week
Highschool sweethearts is pretty close... we started dating the summer after graduation (2005).
Those tan lines... seriously?!?!
The truth is, it's been easy! Of course, there are always problems to work through, but when you love each other, slow down, and think, you can work through anything.
2011
Our friends ask us when we're getting married (ok they've pretty much stopped asking by now). The truth is, I dunno. It's not a priority. Weddings are expensive, and we're already committed to each other, and as common law partners, we are legit in the eyes of the law, soooooo why would we bother? We may some day, on a whim, but for now, who really cares.
2012ish
When I sit down and think about how we have come this far, I'm pretty sure that the key is communication. Always speak your mind, and always listen carefully. React slowly, be kind and thoughtful.
2013
Cheer each other on, support each other's ideas & pursuits. I can't believe how supportive Mark has been of my crazy artist tendencies... and I try really hard not to glaze over when he's excitedly talking about projects such as

In any case, in the age of Tinder and whatnot, I am so grateful to have a person who I can't wait to come home to at the end of the day, who makes me laugh and squeal, who makes me feel safe and happy. I hope everyone in the world one day gets to experience love & happiness like this.
