Sometimes, I am afraid that we have lost our vision about what Christian truly is. Sometimes I think a Christian is very much like what is in front of me when I give my messages each week. It's a mic stand.
It does not smoke or drink, which is great. It's on the right track. This mic stand does not watch too much television, and it does not swear. This mic stand, of course, does not lie. It definitely does not get angry with anybody. Most importantly, this mic stand is at church every Sunday morning. The view many have as to what makes us good Christians isn't far from what this mic stand represents right niw. It's lifeless, inanimate object that follows all the rules.

Do you think, honestly, that is the vision God has for your life as Christian in Christ Jesus? Do you think that the Jesus, who talks about having rivers of living water abiding deep within your soul, envisions you to be like a mic stand in a church? Or is Christianity more than the things we do and don't do?
What limiting, self-imposed (not God-imposed) "rules" have you tried to follow to be "good Christian"? What are some loving adjectives that you believe God would actually use to describe you?
I believe that the vision Jesus has for his apprentice is someone who is filled with an abounding lfe-giving power, who is a world changer, who's plugged into a source of power, which is the love of God. These are people who, yes, are moral and, yes, follow certain rules, but not out of legalism, but rather based on principles that come from the love, joy, and peace of the Holy Spirit. That is the vision God has for us.
Let's ask God's help daily to awaken to the same vision for the life He has planned for us that day.
"WE MUST BE THANKFUL TO THE LORD FOR ENVISIONING OUR LIVES TO BE BASED ON HIS PRINCIPLES AND FILLED WITH HIS LOVE, JOY AND PEACE."
