So he called me to come over, "A patient of mine is in serious need of blood, I need your help".
Immediately, I rushed down to the hospital. I saw the lady lying down on the bed, she cannot breath except with the oxygen support. So I met with with the family of the lady and after introducing myself, the daughter asked me "How much are we going to pay you to donate blood to my mum?"
I simply responded, "Who's running the blood match test, please let's get this started". This is happening at about 12am that day. As my blood was running through my veins down to the blood container, a lot was going through my mind.
The daughter told me earlier that her mum was very happy and was even breathing without the oxygen support until later in the evening when the story changed, her heartbeat dropped and she was transferred to the ICU.
As emotional as I could be, tears kept rolling down my cheeks. I thought about what life is all about. What you don't know as a healthy person unless you're sick. My story would have had a happy ending if the lady had survived. I kept watching as she fought to live.
