It is another new month and it is time to replace my dialyzer (the blood filter) because it is already had been used up 8 times and it has to be replaced. My insurance partly covers it if I would be using the ordinary one but I am using the "High flux" type so I have to add money for me to get that kind of dialyzer.
In western parts of the world they have a different standard because the dialyzer there is only used once and then discarded while here in y part of the world it is reused so it is cleaned and stored until it is used for about a month or so depending on the dialysis center.
In my church where I was treated in a clandestine manner they use dialyzers for four months because they scrimp on consuming the dialyzers. I was bridged with my blood-cleaning needs but not really enough to clean me thoroughly.
I am using that kind of dialyzer because it actually cleans the blood much better as it has bigger filter holes that allows more toxins to pass through it. But it will also allow nutrients that is needed by my body to pass through as well so it makes me hungry that is why I am eating while hooked up.
I like the kind of cleaning it gives me because for one thing it gives me back my appetite and with that I was able to feel how is it to enjoy food once again in a little window of opportunity it gives me and it only happens at dialysis times.
I just wished that I can be able to get dialysis everyday so that at least I can be able to enjoy my food but it might get a possibility one day but not everyday although it is very tasking on the body plus it is just so impractical because it is also time-consuming, you might as well live in the hospital for that matter.
