Scientists are already theorizing ways to deflect asteroids, terraforming Mars, and exploring beyond what rockets ships can reach. I think that there will come a time when we can be in control of every natural phenomenon here on Earth as well. I remember a time when video games like Yuri has come up to an idea that we can control a thunderstorm. A way to control where it will land to wreak havoc to a specific area in the world map. Not so long ago, I saw the movie trailer of Geostorm where they feature the use of satellites to take control of the global climate. The idea to take control of the weather sounds interesting.
With this capability, we will be able to eliminate climatic disasters and make certain areas of the planet more livable. We could turn a dessert into an oasis that can harness life. We may be able to balance the amount of rain that drops on a specific area and prevent flash flooding. We can designated a certain amount of rainfall to places where it’s needed to produce a good amount of harvest for the farming industry. These are a few things that will make life better here in our planet that we should be focusing on in the next century instead of trying to look for other places that we know very little about.
Thinking about this idea, I’m amazed that that game developers of before were thinking ahead of their time. If we put more effort in designing and experimenting on the way to have a better control of the climate then we could develop something that may alter the life here in our planet.
