Your trip to Rio should definitely include a visit to the famous Selarón steps in Lapa.
The Selarón steps were created over a 20 year period by an eccentric Chilean-born artist called Jorge Selarón. He used ceramic tiles from his travels around the world, and from other friends and supporters travels.
His steps hit the spotlight when they were featured in the music video for Beautiful by Snoop Dogg featuring Pharrel.
Sadly Jorge was found dead on his steps in 2013. I was lucky enough to meet him, and get this picture of him with my friends.
