To expand on a previous post. Why can't humans admit that they need each other? It's funny really, we see ourselves as being so much smarter than animals, yet without the combined accrued knowledge from past generations, we would know absolutely nothing, we would find ourselves huddled under a banana leaf shivering in the rain!
Without others combined skills and specialties developed over thousands of years working for the common goal, we wouldn't have the technology and things we sometimes take for granted.
When we work together and share knowledge and resources, we fair so much better. I think we should admit that working together is how we got to where we are. I'm not advocating socialism or have any political agenda, just pointing out that humans need each other for absolutely everything.
What's the first thing we do when discovering a new tool or finding a pretty stone, we want to share it, to tell someone. This desire is strong, that's why social media is so popular, we get to share our thoughts, this fills some deep need. It's what make humans human, but why do we do it?
Ever notice how the generous type of people tend to be so much happier than the greedy type? Giving, whether it's information, art or physical things rewards ourselves by fulfilling one of our most basic instincts. If only everyone could grasp that, many of the worlds problem would be instantly solved.
Steemit is perfect for our basic instinct of sharing. Not only can we share thoughts and information, but regardless of our financial position we can actually have an impact on the monetary gain of others. I love it! I can't wait until my vote is worth a little more. This is leading edge possibly world changing technology and I get to be a part of it. It's ingenious. Thanks so much to the developers and thanks to everyone who read this!
