Maybe you think I'm a sad muggle who doesn't know what she's missing.
Well, maybe you're right!
Why I Can't do Drugs.
It's not because I lost so many friends that way or because of what I've seen people do after smoking, shooting up and imbibing to excess.
Neither is it because I think drug taking is wrong.
I think everyone is getting by the best they can in life. Some feel they need dope to get by for their own reasons. Some don't find out till it's too late that they have an addictive personality. I understand all that.

Here's my position:
I can't do drugs. I just can't, you see.
It all started when I was 15 and used to hang out in L'Auberge - a cool coffee bar in London. Drugs in the sugar bowl there, oh yes. Open dealing - oh yes.
That's when I first saw how people used their time when they were high. I watched with interest.
At that time I was a into learning in a ginormous way (still am actually). My latest teenage project (after boys) was a Teach Yourself course in symbolic logic. Remember that Teach Yourself series? Great weren't they?

I remember watching the druggies and thinking, no way! Immersing myself in symbolic logic proofs would have to take a back seat if I used my time that way. I just couldn't let that happen.
It's been the same all my life. There's always something fun I really, really want to do. I always need more fun time! Not empty, drug time.
Drugs would ruin my natural high and I could never let that happen, oh no!
So that's why I can't do drugs.
I just can't, you see.
